Pastor Sam Kaluwala started his ministry in 1990 as associate pastor to Bethesda Baptist Church in Sircilla town and district in the state of Telangana, India.

Mr. Kaluwala became the full-time pastor in 1995 and helped establish several additional outreach programs for the work of the ministry. A children's home was opened with 24 orphaned or semi-orphaned children. Over time, three more homes were opened in other locations which now house and care for hundreds of additional children. The children in these homes receive an academic education as well as opportunities to hear the gospel, most of them, for the first time. A widow’s care center, sewing training center for young girls of local villages, and a Bible School for training native preachers are some other ministries that have been established under the leadership of Pastor Kaluwala. The opportunity to drill water wells in needy areas has offered a platform for reaching these new areas with the gospel. It is within this part of the ministry where Pastor Kaluwala is experiencing opposition to the preaching of the Gospel.

Bethesda Baptist Church became a mother Church to another 47 Branch Churches in several districts of Telangana state. Using many men that he has trained, Pastor Kaluwala is ministering in 267 villages. Fasting-prayer meetings are held twice a month to support the spiritual growth of the congregations of all the churches. Weekly cottage prayer meetings are used as an evangelistic tool to reach the neighborhoods around church member’s homes. Childrens and Youth camps are offered during summer breaks. Revival meetings and pastors' conferences are both held twice a year.

 Pastor Kaluwala has been married since 1993 and God has blessed him with 3 sons.
