The Baker Family

Missionaries of Helps to the Western United States

Doug and Robin Baker arrived in Gillette, WY, in 2008, where they began their ministry as missionary helpers. Their focus was to encourage pastors and missionaries with pulpit relief, Vacation Bible School, summer camps, and construction projects. In 2010, the ministry of Western Baptist Missions Warehouse was born with the addition of a 2500 square foot warehouse that holds supplies intended to meet the needs of pastors and missionaries serving within a nine-state radius. Shortly after the establishment of the warehouse, the Bakers were blessed with an enclosed trailer which enabled them to begin delivering these supplies to the missionary. During their time on the field, Doug served as interim pastor at Prairie View Baptist Church, and has now accepted the pastorate of Jericho Baptist Church in Gillette. He is very active at the local nursing home and assisted living home, conducting four services monthly, and works with the inmates at the local county detention center. Mrs. Baker is also active in the ministry of the warehouse, with bookkeeping and correspondence, and teaches a weekly Bible study at the assisted living facility.

Doug and Robin are sent out of Wahoo Baptist Church, Murrayville, GA, and have been married since August 1985.  They have two married daughters, and two grandchildren.

The Bell Family

Missionary-Pastor in Maine

Todd and Amy Bell moved to East Millinocket, Maine in 1996 where they started and established Tri Town Baptist Church. In August 2000, under the Bell’s leadership, Tri Town Baptist Church started Church Hill Baptist Church in Augusta, Maine. Since that time Church Hill Baptist Church has continued to plant churches and send out preachers to help struggling churches become God honoring once more.

In 1998, God burdened Todd's heart for “Reaching the Next Towns”. This burden and vision birthed Wings with the Word, Inc. aviation ministry.  Wings with the Word is now under the umbrella of Anchor Baptist Missions but Todd Bell continues as the director. With the use of airplanes, the Bells have been able to start and establish more than one church at a time.

He also uses the aviation ministry to encourage and edify other men of God all over the New England area. Brother Bell has 2,500 hours total flying time, 557 of those hours are in multi-engine aircrafts. He is a private, instrument, multi rated pilot. He has flown single engine Cessna’s, single engine Pipers, and multi-engine Cessna’s (310 and 402). All of these flying hours have been built flying all over the state of Maine and New England.

In August 2003, the Bell family moved to Sanford, Maine where they started and are currently pastoring Calvary Baptist Church of Sanford. Under the leadership of Pastor Bell, Calvary Baptist Church has started the Island Baptist Church on the island of Islesboro, Maine; First Baptist Church of Jackman in Jackman, Maine; Providence Baptist Church in Fort Kent, Maine; and Gospel Light Baptist Church in New Vineyard, Maine. In 2010 God burdened Pastor Bell to start Sanford Christian Academy so that children could be educated in a Godly atmosphere. Pastor Bell also leads his congregations to support missions through faith- promise giving, and to love reaching the world with the gospel. His church is active in soul-winning, discipleship, and training servants of the Lord.

Todd and Amy have been married since 1989 and are members of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Waynesville, NC.  They have 4 children, Elisabeth, Ben, Cherith and Abigail.

The Locklear Family

Missionaries to the Native Americans

Gerry Locklear and his wife Sheril are missionaries to the Native Americans wherever found in the lower United States, Alaska, and Canada. They are both members of the Lumbee Tribe located in Eastern North Carolina and have been working in Native Missions since 1992.  Their ministry’s focus is establishing and building Baptist churches on our reservations.

In 2006, the Locklears formed the non-profit Native American Mission Fund Ministries (NAMFM) through their home church.  The NAMFM financially supports 11 missionary ministries monthly located on reservations across the nation. By working directly with these missionaries, who have an established Baptist church on a reservation, NAMFM strives to meet any needs that arise whether with finances, food, clothing, Bibles, VBS material or other. They also coordinate missions projects thru the local church to provide Christmas shoeboxes to native children. Mission groups are organized and sent out to teach VBS and backyard Bible classes as well as to participate in evangelistic door to door visiting and witnessing on the reservations.

There are 573 Native American Tribes in our nation and over 300 major reservations. Less than 20% of the people from these tribes have had the true gospel preached to them. This is a sad reality and with the help of God it is the Locklear family’s desire to reach every native tribe with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Gerry and Sheril have been married since 1976 and are members of Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church in Fletcher, NC.

The Youngblood Family

Missionaries in Kiana, Alaska

David and Tammy moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 2008, to assist Missionary Earl Malpass with Mission Air Care. It was here that they fell in love with the Last Frontier and in 2010, they surrendered to full-time ministry. Their first ministry in Alaska was providing temporary fill-in relief to pastors and their families throughout Alaskan villages. The Lord allowed them to serve in eight different villages before they moved permanently to Kiana, Alaska. Kiana is located just above the Arctic Circle, 90 miles east of Kotzebue. The Youngbloods have been serving the Lord with their family in this community since 2015. The Lord has greatly blessed their ministry through various outreach opportunities. Each week offers Sunday services, Teen Time and Sunday School, a Wednesday service, Kings Kids (Thursday), RU Recovery (Friday) and a monthly TEFAP distribution. During the summer months, they open the “Baptist Park,” which is a safe place for children to come play and hear about the Lord.

David and Tammy have been married since 1985 and are members of the Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC
